Stamicarbon is the only licensor that supplies the full range of shaping and finishing technologies: Granulation, prilling and pastilization.
- Stamicarbon is the market leader in licensing urea granulation technology (as of 2008).
- Stamicarbon was responsible for licensing the world’s highest capacity prilling tower currently operating.
- Working with our partner Sandvik, we provide a high-speed Rotoformer for production of superior pastilles at lowest total cost of ownership.
Fluid-bed granulation: Our fluid-bed granulation technology delivers a superior end product that uses minimal formaldehyde and unprecedented uninterrupted run times. We’ve licensed this process over 14 times for commercial scale plants with planned capacities of up to 3,800 mtpd. The plants using this technology are operating at or above their original design capacity and they all meet required product quality standards.

Rotoformer: An innovative pastilization process from our partner Sandvik, the rotoformer technology creates premium-quality urea pastilles with reduced dust and ammonia emissions, reduced power consumption and lower overall investment costs. The process combines a specialist drop-former with Sandvik’s unique steel belt cooler. Together these two features remove bottlenecks.

Traditional prilling: Serving domestic markets (for example, plants in India or China), prilling is still an option. The urea solution is concentrated to 99.7% urea in two steps under vacuum. The resultant molten stream is prilled with the aid of a rotating prilling bucket, designed by Stamicarbon. Using an optional technique of seeding when prilling, we can help you produce impact-resistant prills that can be handled with very little degradation or breaking.
