In 2002 Agrium decided to implement the Stamicarbon fluid bed granulator in two existing lines urea granulation in Fort Saskatchewan, Canada. These lines had a nameplate capacity of 544 tpd each.
The process shows reliable performance resulting in an excellent product. Stamicarbon implemented similar solutions at the Egyptian companies, EFC, AlexFert and Helwan - creating the first world-scale granulation plants. In fact Stamicarbon has now licensed more than 17 granulation plants with capacities of up to 3600 mtpd. It's a perfect example of how a strong initial partnership can snowball into major, multiple commercial successes.
