Abstract:
Stamicarbon is the world leader in urea technology. Leadership in this context also means responsibility, and as a process licensor we strive to continuously ensure that our process plant designs fulfill our customer’s needs.
We are therefore proud to present our most recent achievements in this respect: the new plant concept that is available for licensing now. The targets set for our new plant concept are based on the requirements we hear first-hand from our customers on a regular basis:
- Minimize the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) required for new plants.
- Minimize the Operational Expenditure (OPEX) required for new plants.
- Maintain high product quality, low emission figures and high on-stream time.
- Run a maintenance-free plant.
These targets have been achieved thanks to investments in research and development, along with our experiences in revamp projects. Specifically:
- A low level arrangement for the synthesis equipment: minimizing CAPEX.
- Optimized choice of stripping efficiency, meaning minimizing steam consumption and so minimizing OPEX.
- Zero oxygen introduction to the synthesis section, through the use of Safurex material for construction. This also paves the way for an intrinsically safe and maintenance-free plant and further simplification of the process design to eliminate the hydrogen removal, delete the HP scrubber and simplify the off-gas treatment section of the plant.
