HP carbamate condenser
The carbamate solution from the HP scrubber is transferred with the HP ejector to the HP carbamate condenser or Pool condenser. The control and operation of the HP ejector can be checked by the temperatures at the in- and outlet of the ejector. A too low carbamate solution level in the suction line of the HP ejector can result in gas slipping through from the HP scrubber into the discharge line of the HP ejector resulting in a higher temperature of the outlet mixture.
This additional gas flow must be condensed in the HP carbamate condenser or Pool condenser, resulting in additional load on the condenser. Also the amount of non-condensable gas in the reactor will accumulate. In the high-pressure carbamate condenser the heat released by condensation of ammonia and CO2 is used to produce re-usable low-pressure steam.
