    Mega plant concept

The Stamicarbon Mega Plant concept helps reduce the amount of high pressure equipment needed to run large-scale urea plants.

The Stamicarbon Mega Plant concept sees a proportion of the liquid effluent from the reactor diverted to a medium pressure recycling section - which in turn reduces the size of the high pressure vessels required. In fact the Mega Plant Concept doesn't need the ammonia recycle section or the ammonia hold-up steps commonly seen in competitors total recycle urea plants. This is thanks to the low ammonia-to-carbon dioxide molar ratio in the separated gases, which allows for easy condensation as carbamate only.
