Stamicarbon has a continuous and highly effective N/C measurement system that for the past two decades has proven very reliable - saving money, time and effort.

The N/C ratio, is the main process parameter for optimising yield of urea. If the N/C ratio is correct, the plant produces at stable conditions with the maximum temperature at prevailing synthesis pressure maximizing urea yield. The result: Less steam consumption, minimum ammonia losses, no laboratory assistance required and maximum urea production. The sample taken from the urea synthesis reactor first passes through a sample conditioning system (cooling, pressure reducing and flushing). It is then analyzed in the density meter, before being released into the recirculation section.

The N/C measurement system is installed in a cabinet built by SPIE, an established Stamicarbon partner. The cabinet has all the connections needed for easy installation - at both Stamicarbon urea plants and many non-Stamicarbon urea plants.
