Biggest Stamicarbon plant ever to be built for Erdos in China

Erdos Unichem International Co. Ltd from inner Mongolia in China has chosen Stamicarbon technology to relocate two small TEC urea plants from Korea to China and revamp them from 2 times 1000 mtpd to 3520 mtpd.

The revamp concept is based on the pool condenser technology and includes a complete synthesis in Safurex^®. Safurex^®, being a unique duplex stainless steel material will make sure that the plant can be operated with zero oxygen, leading to the best safety performance.

The ground breaking ceremony took place on May 20th, 2006 in Inner Mongolia, China and was attended by Pejman Djavdan, Managing Director of Stamicarbon. In his speech he expressed the importance of this project for the business of both Erdos and Stamicarbon.
This project will be the biggest ammonia/urea plant ever built in China and at the same time, be the biggest Stamicarbon plant ever built.
It will be the first Safurex^® synthesis in China and the second worldwide.

Stamicarbon is collaborating in this project with CNCEC/Chengda Design Institute and Schoeller Bleckmann Nooter.
The new plant will be ready in 2008.
