Fourth Urea plant contract in Egypt with Stamicarbon's technology

Egypt's Suez-based Mirs Oil Processing Company is to build a 1925 tonnes per day urea and a 1200 tonnes per day ammonia unit in the Damietta free trade zone in Egypt, some 200 km East of Alexandria. It is the fourth contract within two years for a plant in Egypt using Stamicarbon urea technology.

Uhde GmbH, of Germany, will build this fertilizer comples as a turnkey project. The ammonia plant will use Uhde's Ammonia technology while the urea melt plant will use Stamicarbon's Urea Synthesis technology. The granulation plant will use Yara's Granulation Technology, to be provided by Uhde Fertilizer Company. The plant is due to start production mid 2008.

Stamicarbon's urea synthesis technology has been licensed for design and construction of most of contracted / built urea grass root projects of the last five years, e.g.
