New debottlenecking projects in China
Stamicarbon has been awarded two large debottlenecking projects in China. The first one is the revamp of the Petrochina Daqing urea plant. The capacity is increased from 1620 mtpd to 2300 mtpd by the implementation of the Medium Pressure Add-On Debottlenecking Technology.
In November 2003 Stamicarbon has been awarded the revamp of Petrochina Ningxia's ammonia stripping urea plant to increase its plant capacity from 1740 mtpd to 2610 mtpd by introduction of the Urea 2000plusT Pool condenser Debottlenecking Technology. The material of construction for this Pool condenser will be SAFUREX. This will be the first SAFUREX application in China.
Safurex is a new duplex stainless steel material, developed by Stamicarbon and Sandvik, which has a much better corrosion resistance than the traditional urea quality stainless steels.
