Safurex^® is the new material of construction, developed jointly by Sandvik and Stamicarbon for application in urea plants. Since 1997 several high-pressure equipment items are being built already in Safurex^®. This is however the first application for a stripper in the Ukraine.

The contract for this stripper is signed between CEAMAG Paris and OPP Odessa. Schoeller-Bleckmann Nooter of Austria will fabricate the stripper, which has been designed by Stamicarbon according to the latest design criteria. The capacity of the new stripper will be 150% of the original plant capacity. The new stripper will replace the existing one with minimum modifications to the high pressure pipelines and with no modifications to the structure.

OPP Odessa operates two Stamicarbon CO₂ Stripping plants, both from the nineteen eighties, located near the Yuzhnyy port along the Black Sea. OPP recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and is committed to a continuous improvement of its performance.
