Stamicarbon has been awarded urea contract by Jianfeng, China

Stamicarbon has been awarded the large licensing contract for a grass root urea poolcondenser plant for Jianfeng Chemicals (Co. Ltd.) in Fuling, Chongqing, Peoples Republic of China. This is the 15th pool condenser Stamicarbon designed.

Besides the license, Process Design Package and associated services the Stamicarbon scope of this contract is extended by the delivery of high pressure proprietary equipment and piping based on its proprietary Safurex^® material, a non corrosive duplex stainless steel, which has been developed together with Sandvik.

The capacity of this new plant, which is expected to be ready by 2010, will be 2700 metric tonnes per day. The plant will be built by the Chinese CECC Design Institute. The Safurex^® high pressure section, equipment and piping, will be built mainly by Schoeller Bleckmann Nooter and Böhler from Austria.

The Chinese market has always been of great importance to Stamicarbon. It has been licensing urea technology in China since 1963. In total Stamicarbon has signed some 30 contracts with Chinese customers until now. These projects include grass root plants as well as debottlenecking and revamp projects.
