The Urea 2000plus™ pool condenser concept is a more sustainable and efficient solution for urea production.

Inside the pool condenser, ammonia and carbon dioxide are condensed to form carbamate, which helps establish the conversion to urea. The heat released by condensation and subsequent formation of carbamate is used to produce re-usable low-pressure steam. The high-pressure scrubbing operation can also be simplified in the pool reactor concept for plant capacities smaller than 2300 mtpd urea by placing the scrubber sphere above the pool reactor and adding the ammonia to the synthesis via this scrubber - eliminating the need for a separate heat-exchanging section. Pool reactor design enables investment efficient urea plant at smaller capacities.

Because ammonia and carbon dioxide conversion in the synthesis section are so highly efficient, this reduces the need for a medium-pressure stage to recycle any unconverted ammonia and carbon dioxide. Thus saving equipment and investment cost.
