The Stamicarbon CO2 stripping process is unique in the urea industry.
Ammonia and carbon dioxide conversion is high in the synthesis section of a Stamicarbon carbon dioxide stripping plant. This in turn reduces the need for a medium pressure stage to recycle any unconverted ammonia and carbon dioxide. Subsequently, the Stamicarbon CO2 stripping process is the only commercial available process that does not require a medium-pressure recirculation stage downstream from the high-pressure stripper.
