All figures are per metric tonne of final product and are given by way of example only. Local conditions may affect the consumption figures.

The consumption figures include:
- Ammonia compression
- Synthesis section
- Recirculation section
- Evaporation section
- Waste-water treatment section
- Finishing section (prilling or granulation)
They exclude:
- CO₂ compression
- Storage and bagging facilities

Product characteristics:
