Proven technology
- Stamicarbon's technology is well proven, both commercially and technically
- We guarantee plant performance (capacity, quality and efficiency)
- With our reputation behind it, we offer certainty and reliability to our customers

Building of new urea plants
Most new urea plants are built under the conditions of LSTK
(Lump Sum Turn Key).
In such case Stamicarbon provides its urea license through
its licensed contractors.
These contractors have been carefully selected and have the
capability and experience to realize large size LSTK ammonia/urea
projects. As subcontractor to such LSTK contractor Stamicarbon
provides this contractor with the process license and the
know-how required.
Competition between several contractors, all offering the
Stamicarbon urea process, is quite common.

Process Design Package
When a contractor or customer obtains a license for the Stamicarbon urea process, the
know-how is supplied by Stamicarbon in the form of a comprehensive
process design package which generally includes the following:
- Process description
- Material balance, steam balance, cooling-water balance,
all with relevant flowsheets
- Piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Process data sheets for equipment
- Instrument data sheets
- Data sheets for safety valves
- Logic diagrams
- Group/graphic displays
- Material specifications
- Operating manual
Technology exchange
Additional information may be provided through training, know-how exchange, symposia or other methods agreed with our clients.
Contractors
Stamicarbon co-operates with a selected number of internationally renowned licensed contractors. The process information in the process design package enables the experienced engineering contractor, ultimately appointed by the customer, to perform
the basic and detailed engineering, procurement of equipment
and materials and plant construction.
Because of the capabilities and quality of our selected
contractors, our clients are assured of competitive and
professionally executed projects.

Project execution
Apart from the basic process design package, Stamicarbon
can provide directly to the client or indirectly through a contractor,
the following services during project implementation:
- Contractor guidance
- Assistance in selection of equipment manufacturers
- Procurement and inspection services
- Training of customer’s technical staff in plant
commissioning and operation, using state-of-the-art plant
simulation and other training aids.
- Commissioning services, up to and including completion
of the performance test-run.
Revamping of existing urea plants
Urea producers require cost effective, environmentally friendly and safe production facilities. Revamps can improve on all these items.
Stamicarbon has several revamp technologies and is prepared to study the plant performance in close cooperation with the producer. This study can be the basis of a revamp.
Stamicarbon, in such case, is prepared to license the technology and supply its know-how and services directly to the producer. The producer in turn appoints the engineering contractor to perform further engineering, procurement and construction of the revamp.
