Process plants are normally designed for a particular service life, mostly above twenty years. Older urea plants can remain competitive due to the depreciated initial capital investment.

A prerequisite however is that the plant can produce effectively and efficiently as well.

Stamicarbon is well established as the urea licensor of choice in the urea fertilizer industry. As world market leader with more than 55 years of experience and with over 200 plants licensed, Stamicarbon’s Revamp and Services activities are founded on this rich experience to support customer facilities.

Furthermore Stamicarbon's experience in designing and innovating the urea process is based on the theoretical and practical know-how gained in the urea plant of Stamicarbon's parent company DSM.
