Plant corrosion inspections
Plant corrosion inspections are a valuable tool to assess the condition of a
urea plant. Remaining lifetime of tubes, lining and equipment can be determined
if a history of measurements and operation is present.
Through many years of experience, Stamicarbon can predict the remaining
lifetime of the existing equipment.

Procurement services for High Pressure equipment
For replacement of HP equipment, Stamicarbon supports the customer in making a
tailor made vessel incorporating latest design features. The ultimate goal is to
have a defect free vessel to avoid any unscheduled shutdown during operations.
These services are part of Stamicarbon's Procurement Services for high pressure equipment.
Improve Equipment Reliability System
Improve Equipment Reliability System is a tool that Stamicarbon offers for optimizing
inspection activities based on a criticality rating of items of equipment. Criticality
is a combination of the failure probability and the effects of failure. The effects
of failure may refer to both the economic consequences, such as plant outage and
repairs, as well as safety, health and environmental effects, such as injuries and
pollution. Of course, items of equipment with a high criticality ranking call for
more attention than those with a low criticality ranking. Thus, maintenance can be
prioritized on the basis of the rankings.
Relining of HP urea equipment
Operating urea equipment over many years leads to thinning of the alloy protection.
This reduction in liner wall thickness should not mean automatically the end of
the lifetime. In situ relining may extend the lifetime of the equipment again for many
years. To allow an optimum repair with respect to quality, timing and down time of
the urea plant it is important to make a good game plan and preparations should already
be done prior to the turn around. Stamicarbon has been involved in numerous successful
relining jobs.
