Nitric Acid

Wilfried Dirkx obtained his PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry in 1993 at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He holds several publications in the field of Speciation Analysis. From 1994 till 2003 he was the Site & Facility manager of the GE Betz Europe Technology Center at Haasrode, Belgium. As Laboratory Manager, he was responsible for the scientific as well as commercial aspects of the Customer Service Analytical- and Application laboratory. From 2003 till 2012, he was the managing director of the Kimre Europe Division. In this position, he was responsible for the European Sales of Kimre Products and Applications all over Europe.

In May 2012, he joined Stamicarbon BV as Licensing Manager for Urea. In this new role he is involved in Urea melt and granulation plants equipped with low emission scrubber technology. As Product Owner he is responsible for several offered Proprietary Equipment’s such as the STAC granulator unit and the MMV scrubber. In this assigned role, together with other technology people, he is driving and supporting the incremental R&D activities for these products. He is the owner of several Maire Tecnimont Innovation and Commercial Awards. Since 2017, he also got closely involved in the Stamicarbon offered Nitric Acid technologies (Mono-as well as Dual Pressure). Also here is strongly involved in the technical as well as commercial activities to re-initiate these Stamicarbon technologies back into the market.
