Stamicarbon delivers remote revamp study for Monómeros Colombo Venezolanos nitric acid plant

Stamicarbon's Ammonium Nitrate - Nitric Acid (ANNA) team has delivered a revamp study for Monómeros Colombo Venezolanos mono-pressure nitric acid plant in Barranquilla, Colombia. The growing demand for fertilizers based on Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium (NPKs), which use nitric acid as a feedstock, triggered Monómeros to look for ways to produce more nitric acid at their own facility, and Stamicarbon being the original licensor could offer the most complete view of the project. The plant pre-assessment work and all stages of the project that followed took place virtually and the complete report for increasing and optimizing production, outlining two revamp options, was delivered successfully after six months.

Stamicarbon Leaps Towards Sustainable Fertilizer Production with Green Ammonia Technology

Stamicarbon is proud to announce the launch of Stami Green Ammonia Technology as a solution to tackle the global carbon challenge. The technology relies on renewable resources – instead of fossil fuels – to eliminate carbon from the process, paving the way for sustainable and green fertilizer production. Stamicarbon has signed exclusive cooperation with Argentinian-based Raybite S.R.L. for the commercialization of their small-scale ammonia technology package. The cooperation agreement means that Stamicarbon has become an ammonia licensor for small-scale ammonia plants. By adding this technology to Stamicarbon’s portfolio, commercialization of small-scale urea plants and mono-pressure nitric acid plants in green fertilizer projects becomes feasible.
