Enablers and barriers to digitalizing your plant
Ms. Gabriele Genyte will present the results of her master thesis where 19 respondents shared their digitalization experiences as the thesis aims to understand the enablers and barriers of the chemical fertilizer manufacturing plant or further digitalize their activities across the globe. Chemical fertlizer manufacturing is notorious for resisting digitalization even though the new technologies offer many possibilties to improve plant operation beyond Operational Technology. Digital ways of working may be realized as the customer - chemical fertilizer manufacturing plant - and the technology provider work together towards digitalization. The technology provider Stamicarbon is introducing novel digitalization services to its customers and wishes to understand how they digitalize or further digitalize their operations.

Ms. Gabriele Genyte currently works as a Functional Application Manager at Stamicarbon where she is responsible for various applications that allows for better digital communication between internal and external customers. Next to that she studied at Maastricht University a Society, Science and technology major and a master in business administration. Here she focuses on digitalization and Industry 4.0 in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry.
