Stamicarbon’s Advance Insight Process Monitor (AIPM) enables Urea producers to determine more optimal operating targets in real-time via dynamic or steady-state computer-based process simulation models.

To further strengthen the Operations department for AIPM we are recruiting for a:

Process Modeling and Simulation Engineer

The role

The Process Modeling and Simulation Engineer manages the technical delivery/implementation and deployment of AIPM to the Customer ensuring projects achieve or exceed stated milestones, delivery dates and financial goals. The Process Modeling and Simulation Engineer acts as the technical lead on projects to deal with any technical issues and provide guidance to less experienced team members to ensure Customer satisfaction. The role will require also working on product development, supporting more senior consultants and developing additional process and control skills, in a very effective and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executing AIPM projects including feasibility assessment, design, modeling, configuration, installation and commissioning – alone or as part of a project team
  • Analysis and reporting to customers based on the terms of the SLAs
  • Working co-operatively with the Advance Services extended team in Sales, Technical Support, Product Management and Research & Development, and Partners to ensure successful project delivery and completion
  • Be the technical lead; dealing effectively with technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Implementing AIPM technologies
  • Performing AIPM feasibility and benefit studies and providing user training
  • Supporting AIPM business development as required, including supporting testing and providing feedback to Research and Development regarding performance of the applications

The Candidate

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Process or Control Engineering
  • Relevant academic and operational (petro)chemical experience, preferably with the Urea industry, in modeling, simulation and design of chemical and thermodynamic processes
  • Knowledge of Advanced control, Distributed Control System and real-time database technologies
  • Strong background in numerical methods and mathematical modeling
  • Strong computer programming experience, with specific experience in one or more of these languages: C++, C#
  • Ability to use Linear Programming optimization and simulation packages
  • More advanced knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office
  • Understand the concepts of multivariable identification and be able to proficiently execute data analysis for larger scope matrices
  • Proven experience of successfully executing complete projects from start to finish
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively within a team
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication skills within a Customer facing environment
  • Proactive problem solver with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills
  • Additional languages (Russian, Mandarin, Arabic) will be a definite plus
