To thrive in the modern fertilizer market, producers must look beyond standard urea to meet the specific demands of global agriculture. Farmers are increasingly seeking sulfur-enriched products to correct soil deficiencies and versatile liquid fertilizers for ease of application.
Stamicarbon empowers urea producers to capture these growing markets with advanced, integrated processes for producing both Urea Ammonium Sulfate (UAS) and Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN).
Urea Ammonium Sulfate (UAS) Production
In order to meet the increasing demand for sulfur-based fertilizers, Stamicarbon has developed a flexible modular process for the production of urea ammonium sulfate (UAS).
The addition of ammonium sulfate to urea also reduces nutrient loss due to ammonia volatilization. The UAS granulation process includes four main modules:
- Suspension
- Granulation
- Evaporation
- Scrubbing module
Urea Ammonium Nitrates (UAN) Production
Stamicarbon’s integrated urea-ammonium nitrates (UAN) Design process allows for a simple design and low investment and operating costs.
In an integrated plant, the end product remains in liquid form and can be easily transported and stored in tanks, allowing for the abolishment of expensive prilling or granulation equipment.
The design also enables the production of DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid)/AdBlue®.
