Safurex® is a proprietary material of construction (UNS S32906) for Stamicarbon's critical high-pressure urea equipment and piping. This family of super duplex stainless steels has excellent corrosion-resistant properties to withstand the harsh environment of ammonium carbamate, an intermediate product in the manufacturing of urea.
With respect to the welding of this proprietary material, Stamicarbon offers Safurex® Welders’ Training and Certification in North America in cooperation with our partner Welding Testing Laboratory Inc. at their location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. Welding Testing Laboratory is certified by Stamicarbon and plans, coordinates and executes the training. Application for this training can be done via the signup form below.

The Safurex® Welders' Training consists of hands-on training on how to weld Safurex® material. Welders will be trained and certified in compliance with international standards such as:

Stamicarbon specifications
Safurex® welders' certificates will be issued by Welding Testing Laboratories and approved by Stamicarbon with a validity of 3 years.

Welders who have experience with manual welding of duplex stainless steels and/or austenitic stainless steels can apply for the training. Participants need to indicate the purpose of their participation, supported by a written reference from an official user of Safurex®.
The training will take place at the location of our partner Welding Testing Laboratory Inc., 4350 Scenic Highway – Baton Rouge, LA 70805, USA. The payment for the training needs to be arranged with Welding Testing Laboratory Inc.
