History of excellence Since 1947, Stamicarbon has been at the forefront of developing and licensing technology for the urea industry. For more than 75 years, more than 260 urea plants licensed around the world have already used our technology. This is more than half of the installed capacity worldwide. Urea is the largest nitrogen fertilizer used to add nutrients to crops, replenish arable land and increase crop yields. The life cycle of a urea plant is around 50 years. Stamicarbon offers continuous …

ASSISTANT SECRETARIAT "I'm encouraged to take responsibility and get the job done" The culture of Stamicarbon is very international. It is a fun place to work with a family dynamic, and because we are growing, there are a lot of opportunities within the company. There is a lot of room for potential, for growth because we get a lot of freedom to do our job. We are not restricted and are given a lot of responsibility. We nurture ideas. I am encouraged to take responsibility and get the job done. This creates …

PROJECT MANAGER "I am sixty-one and still see a lot of ways to develop myself" As a company, we are very close. The people here are really experienced, they won't let you down. One of the best examples of this I heard was when one of my colleagues had a heart attack whilst working abroad. In the shortest time, our travel desk arranged a ticket to the location so that his wife and colleagues could be with him. With our technology, we give people the opportunity to do something good in the world. One of the …

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY HEAD OF DEPARTMENT “There is a direct relationship between protection of intellectual property and innovation” I work for both Stamicarbon and the Tecnimont Group as head of IP (Intellectual Property). IP is basically all the knowledge that Stamicarbon and the other members of the group are generating. It's not my task to invent, but to protect the intellectual property that is invented. Engineers come to me when they think they may have invented something new. Every time an inventor …

SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER "My life is a continuous evolution" My goal is to bring many new things into Stamicarbon. People in general are afraid of new things. I think we need more courage to do new things and to continuously learn and improve. We need to take responsibility to try something new. At Stamicarbon I have new challenges to use my good skills in engineering but also in creativity and team work. I feel I can really put myself and my personality into the process and bring some fresh air and new …

MATERIALS & CORROSION SPECIALIST "Problem-solving is a part of who I am" You have to be imaginative; of course, you need your analytical skills, but you also need to have the ability to imagine solutions outside what is presented to you. Problem-solving has become a part of who I am. Stamicarbon is not your typical Dutch company. If you have ideas, people are willing to listen and tell you what they think, but it's backed by facts, by a reason, they don't say things just for the sake of it. Read all our …
