The Challenge

Operations Launch is organized within the Business Line Licensing, within the Stamicarbon Organization. The department is working in a project environment, being responsible for managing all Grass Root projects in the field of urea, nitric acid, ammonia and derivative Technologies while at the same time delivering all relevant technological and technical knowledge and resources to define, sell, and execute the projects.

Currently we are searching for a Process Engineer Launch.

In this role you:
• Perform studies and prepare Process Design Packages (PDPs) and related services for new plants in the field of urea, nitric acid and ammonia or adjacent technologies or for the revamping or debottlenecking of existing plants;
• Support the commercial licensing process by preparing technical proposals;
• Participate in the commissioning of grass root or revamped plants;
• Work closely with our colleagues of the Licensing Sales & Services Department and with several members of multidisciplinary teams in different phased projects;
• Generate new technology, optimize and improve work practices and existing designs with regard to the different production processes;
• Ensure that adequate tools (e.g. design manuals/guidelines and software tools) are available to guarantee the quality and integrity of the process designs and to improve the efficiency of our engineering process;
• Review the work of engineering contractors during the design and construction phase;
• Have a significant role in supporting, educating and coaching our (junior) Process Engineers.

The Candidate

This role will suit a person with a relevant Bachelor/Master Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Technology.

As our next Process Engineer Launch you’ll have:
• At least 3 years of experience in process technology, process engineering and preferably also operational factory experience, gained in an international project environment;
• Broad experience in international engineering contractors business;
• Excellent knowledge of the (whole) engineering process and the PDP deliverables;
• Experience with flow sheeting and the use of engineering tools for front-end engineering, ESA/HAZOP/SIL studies and of VCA-VOL;
• The technical drive to make us best in class;
• Previous (operational factory) experience in nitric acid (is considered a plus).
• A personality that is analytical, accurate and flexible with a strong service orientation. And you show a true team spirit, can connect easily with colleagues and customers and you are driven to share your knowledge, to coach and support people;
• Good communication skills and an excellent command of English (verbally as well as written);
• Experience in working with deadlines on results;
• And you enjoy frequent travelling abroad.
